Exterior cleaning
Window cleaning
Clear glass, clean frames and screens put back where they came from.
Outside glass collects pollen in spring, dust and sprinkler spray in summer and a film of road grime all year. Most people do the windows they can reach from the ground and leave the rest. We do all of them, upstairs included.
Every window is scrubbed, squeegeed and detailed at the edges by hand, and the frames and sills get wiped down too. Want the inside done as well? Add a note on the quote form and we will include it in your price.
Signs it's time
- A haze you notice when the sun hits the glass in the afternoon
- Spots from sprinklers or rain on the lower panes
- Bugs, webs and pollen built up in the frame corners
- Second-story windows nobody has cleaned since you moved in
Step by step
- Take the screens off and set them aside in order
- Scrub each pane and the frame edges
- Squeegee the glass and detail the edges by hand
- Wipe down frames and sills
- Brush or rinse the screens and put them back
Hard-water spots from sprinklers are minerals etched into the glass. Cleaning lightens them, but heavy etching may not come out all the way. Foggy glass between two panes means the seal has failed, and that needs a glass shop.

Window cleaning: questions
How much does window cleaning cost?
Outside glass on a typical home with 20 to 25 windows runs $175 to $275, or $325 to $475 inside and out. Size, height and how dirty it is all change the price, so we look at your home and confirm the exact price in person before anything is booked.
Do you clean second-story windows?
Yes. Upstairs windows are part of the job, not an add-on.
Can you clean the inside of the windows too?
Yes. Tell us on the quote form or when we come out and we will include the inside in your price.
How often should windows be cleaned?
Twice a year suits most homes, once in spring after the pollen and once in fall. Homes near busy roads or under trees may want it more often.
How long does window cleaning take?
Outside glass on a typical home with 20 to 25 windows takes about 1 to 2 hours. Inside and outside together usually takes 2 to 3 hours. Divided panes and hard-to-reach glass add time.
